Join the global movement against hunger
This Friday 27th September, myself and the other Deloitte Mud Runners (Susie, Will, Lucy, Clare, John and Caitlin) will be swapping risk advisory, audit and tax for running the City Against Hunger Challenge - a 5k obstacle course featuring muddy trenches, cargo net climbs, tyre walls, pontoon lake crossings, a zip wire into water and the infamous "deathslide"!
We will be running for The Hunger Project UK to raise money for their Unleashed Women Movement.
The Hunger Project UK is a charity focused on achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 through empowering people in 17,000 villages to sustainably end their own hunger.
The Unleashed Women Movement is a project launched by The Hunger Project to fight world hunger with a focus on women and children, who are often disproportionately affected by hunger and poverty.
Unleashed Women use grassroots strategies to work towards ending child marriage, improving maternal and child health and enabling women to become financially independent, working across Bangladesh, India, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Senegal, Uganda, Mexico and Peru.
Any donations would be very much appreciated and help to make a difference in the fight against world hunger! Thank you!
£25 could fund functional adult literacy training for two women so that they can learn to read and write.
£30 could provide one woman with a microfinance loan and financial literacy training so she can start a small business, earn an income and support her family.
£65 could train a local volunteer leader who will educate mothers about the importance of pre-natal care to ensure their babies are delivered safely.
£125 could train one Elected Woman in India to be an effective local council member and ban child marriage in her community.
Every pound counts! Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
